Micromax’s sub-brand YU Televentures has finally launched its all-new Yureka Black smartphone in the Indian smartphone market at a price tag of Rs 8,999. The new Yu Yureka Black will be made available for purchase exclusively on e-commerce website Flipkart.com starting midnight June 6 (12 a.m.), in Chrome Black and Matte Black colour options. The new Yu Yureka Black is the successor of the company’s previous original YU Yureka, which was launched back in January, 2015 at Rs 9,999.
In terms of design, the new Yureka Black sports a metal unibody design with a glossy back panel giving it an overall premium look. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphone and a 3.5mm audio socket is housed on the very top edge of the device. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 port sitting in the middle. The smartphone comes equipped with onscreen navigation buttons while the top panel of the device houses a selfie camera with LED flash and an earpiece grille. The Yu Yureka Black also features a fingerprint scanner for biometric security, that is housed underneath the Home Button of the device. Additionally, new Yureka phone offers gestures support which allows users to open apps by using different hand gestures. For example, draw O for Camera.

In terms of specifications, the Yu Yureka Black sports a 5-inch Full-HD IPS touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on top of the display. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the device is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, Yu Yureka Black runs company’s own custom skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The handset also comes with a one handed mode for better user experience.
In terms of optics, Yu Yureka Black features a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, Sony IMX258 sensor, and dual LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with flash for making video calls and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, this dual SIM smartphone offers various connectivity options including 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Accelerometer, Gravity sensor, Proximity sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor. The Yu Yureka Black comes packed with a decent 3000mAh non-removable battery. Dimension wise, it measures just 8.55mm thickness and weighs 142 grams.
