Lenovo-owned Motorola on Friday silently launched its most awaited and talked mid-range smartphone, “Moto C” in India at a price tag of Rs. 5,999. The new Moto C is now already available for purchase via all leading offline retail stores across the country. The smartphone sports a micro-textured back cover and made available in three attractive body colour options — Pearl White, Metallic Cherry and Starry Black.

To recall, Moto C was launched in May this year, along with the company’s another mid-range smartphone “Moto C Plus”. Motorola launched its Moto C in two variants, wherein one variant comes with 3G connection with 1GB RAM/8GB native storage at EUR 89 (approximately Rs 6,300), and the second variant comes with 4G connectivity with 1GB RAM/8GB native storage, which was priced at EUR 99 (approximately around Rs 7,000). In India, the new Moto C has been launched in 1GB RAM and 16GB native storage variant with 4G with voLTE connectivity support in dual-SIM card slot configuration.

In terms of design, Moto C is very similar to the Moto C Plus with respect to design. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very top of the phone. The speaker grille is seen at the back side of the device and a microUSB 2.0 charging port is sitting on top of the middle. The Moto C smartphone is seen sporting capacitive navigation buttons, just below the display panel, while the top display panel houses a selfie camera, and an earpiece.

Moto C specifications and features:

In terms of specifications, the Moto C sports a 5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Moto C is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737M quad-core Cortex-A53 processor. In terms of memory, the phone is backed by a 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fonts, the Moto C runs Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.

In terms of photography, the Moto C features a 5-megapixel rear sensor with 1.4-micron pixels, fixed focus, 74-degree field of view lens, an LED flash, and 720p video recording. On the front, there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with 1-micron pixels, fixed focus, 63-degree field of view lens, and an LED flash for capturing bright selfies and video calling.

In terms of connectivity, Moto C offers various connectivity options including Dual-SIM dual standby, 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. The Moto C comes packed with a 2350mAh removable battery. The handset measures at 145.5 x 73.6 mm x 9 mm and weighs 154 grams.
