After launching the X power2 smartphone earlier this year, South Korean electronics company LG on Monday launched a new smartphone with impressive battery under its X family smartphone series, dubbed as “LG X500” in the South Korean tech market. Priced at KRW 319,000 (approximately Rs. 18,400 or $285), the new LG X500 will be made available for purchase in South Korea through its three leading carriers starting from June 9 (Friday) in Navy Blue and Gold colour options. Like its predecessor, the new LG X500 also comes with a massive 4,500 mAh battery with fast charging technology support. LG claims that the X500 smartphone is capable of 20 hours of straight video playback and 18 hours of straight internet surfing on a single charge.
Interestingly, the LG X500 will carry a different model numbers due to its different telecom variants. SK Telecom variant of the LG X500 will be coming with model number LGM-X320S, the KT carrier variant will be getting LG X500 with model number LGM-X320K and the LG U+ variant will have the LGM-X320L model number. But, as of now, the company has not revealed any information about the global availability of the smartphone.
LG X500 specifications and features:
In terms of specifications, the LG X500 sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The device is powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor (unspecified) clocked at 1.5GHz. In terms of memory, the LG X500 is backed by a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fonts, the LG X500 runs on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box.
In terms of optics, the LG X500 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto & touch focus, face detection, HDR and LED flash. The rear camera is also capable of shooting videos in Full HD 1080p resolution at 30 fps. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with a wide-angle lens and soft-light LED flash for making video calls and taking selfies.
In terms of Connectivity, the dual-SIM LG X500 offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, USB OTG support, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the phone include Proximity, Compass, Accelerometer and Gyroscope sensors. The LG X500 comes packed with a mammoth 4,500 mAh battery with fast charging support. The phone’s fast charging ability charges at double the rate of a conventional charger, that the X power2 will require an hour to charge the battery Zero (0) to 50 percent, and around two hours for full charge. Dimension wise, the handset measures 154.7 x 78.1 x 8.4 mm and weighs around 164 grams.
