Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is expected to launch its next Honor 8 successor, the Honor 9 in a couple of days. The Chinese company has started sending out the media invites for its upcoming flagship smartphone launch event, which is scheduled to be held on Monday, June 12 in Shanghai, China. The media invite shows an image of the flagship series number “9” along with a dual-camera setup sign, that means the Huawei Honor 9 is on the way and it will sport a dual rear camera setup. The invite poster also contains a Chinese tagline that translates “Beautiful and Colourful,” meaning that the upcoming smartphone will sport a premium design and it will be made available in various attractive colour options. After its official launch in China, the Chinese company is also expected to release the Honor 9 smartphone in Europe, starting with Berlin event on June 27.
However, there are many leaks and rumours about the Honor 9 from the last couple of months. Huawei Honor 9 has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of the launch which does reveal a gist of all the specifications and features about the premium device. If the rumours are to be believed, the Honor 9 would see a significant overhaul in terms of specifications and arrive with a host of improvements. The main highlight of the device will be its dual rear camera setup.
Huawei Honor 9 specifications:
In terms of specifications, the Huawei Honor 9 will sport a 5.15-inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device will be powered by a 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor. In terms of memory, it is expected to come with a 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the Huawei Honor 9 will run on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box with company’s own Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.1 skin.
In terms of optics, Huawei Honor 9 will have a dual rear camera setup combined with 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel sensors. On the front, it is said to sport an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. For connectivity, the Honor 9 will feature 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The device will come loaded with a decent 3,100mAh non-removable battery.
