Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) on Tuesday launched an all-new 110-cc scooter, called the “Honda Cliq” in India at a price tag of Rs 42,499 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). The new Honda Cliq 110-cc scooter has been designed to maximise utility with an additional value of comfort and convenience for daily goers, offering excellent value for money. The new Honda Cliq was first showcased as a concept design at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo alongside the company’s mini scooter, Navi. Honda Cliq will be manufactured at the company’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan’s Alwar district and will go on sale across the country in a phase-wise manner.
Design:
The new Honda Cliq comes with a big front apron, wide handlebar, body mounted automatic headlamp with individual indicator lamps. Honda has also provided a flat and wide floorboard to offer more foot space as well as additional luggage space. The Honda Cliq gets special 10-inch block pattern tubeless tyres with deep grooves that provide extra grip and better control over patchy roads under all weather conditions. Like a traditional scooter, the Cliq also comes with sufficient under-seat storage bin. Further, the scooter houses a mobile charging socket and a rear carrier (optional) to offer more convenience features to customers. Honda says the Cliq is light, stylish and designed to work with both male and female riders.
Engine:
Talking about its engine, the all new Honda Cliq is powered by a 110cc Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine, which generates a peak power of 8bhp at 7,000 RPM and peak torque of 8.94Nm at 5,500 RPM. The engine is mated to an automatic gearbox that sends the power to the rear wheel and the powertrain has a claimed top speed of 83 kmph. Moreover, the new Honda Cliq 110cc also gets the BS-IV engine that reduces emission level which is approved by the Indian government. The scooter weighs 102kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 3.5 litres.
Features:
The key feature of the new Honda Cliq is the AHO or Automatic Headlamp On, is a new Government notification effective April 1, 2017. AHO, that gives the rider an improved visibility of the vehicle in all weather conditions (rain, fog, dawn, dusk, etc). As per government notification, the headlamp of all two-wheelers manufactured in India should be equipped to automatically turn on as the vehicle starts to improve visibility and to reduce the risk of accident on road in all conditions. The new Honda Cliq comes equipped with Combined Braking System or CBS with Equalizer technology, that balances braking inputs on both wheels when the left lever is pulled and helps reduce stopping distances while helping the new Cliq maintain its balance. CBS or Combined Braking System, that feature will become mandatory for safety by April 1, 2018, for two-wheelers with 125 cc or lower capacity.
Colours:
The all new Honda Cliq will be made available for purchase in four body colour options – Patriotic red with white, Moroccan blue with white, Black and Orcus grey. Apart from this, the company has also offered optional accessories, such as a front screen, floor cover, floorboard-mounted centre box, cap cover and rear grip.
