Hollywood Title of ‘Viceroy’s House’ have now changed to  ‘Partition 1947’ for the Indian market. This film is directed by Gurinder Chadha. This film was screened at Berlin International Film Festival.  This film talks about the events that took place around Indian Indian Independence and partition n 1947-48.

The final Viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, has to oversee the transition of British India to independence but meets with conflict as the sides clash in the face of monumental change. This film includes British film and  TV artistes such as Hugh Bonneville as Lord Mountbatten and Gillian Anderson as Lady Mountbatten. The film has received positive reviews from Hollywood critics.

The film revolves around two principal characters such as  Mountbatten’s new manservant, Jeet (played by actor Manish Dayal) falls for the daughter’s assistant, Alia (played by Huma Qureshi)  and all manner of obstacles are put in their way. In this movie, the role of Gandhi is played by Neeraj Kabi, while actor Tanvir Ghani narrates the role of Jawaharlal Nehru and Denzil Smith plays the roles of Jinnah.

In India, the film is released by Reliance Entertainment and slated to release on August 18. The film music is composed by A R Rahman.  Veteran actor Om Puri will be soon in a small but meaningful role of Ali Rahim Noor. Reliance Entertainment has released the poster for the movie Partition 1947 and described as the untold story of Partition movement.
