After introducing the Selfie 2 smartphone in India last month, Domestic handset manufacturer Micromax on Friday updated its recently launched Evok series smartphone portfolio with the launch of a new mid-range device, dubbed as “Micromax Evok Dual Note” in the Indian tech market. The Micromax Evok Dual Note comes in two variants based on its RAM configuration: Evok Dual Note with 3GB RAM and Evok Dual Note with 4GB RAM. As for pricing, the Micromax Evok Dual Note with 3GB RAM variant has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 9,999, while the Evok Dual Note with 4GB RAM variant’s pricing details has not been revealed by the company yet. However, carried a such an attractive price tag, the new Micromax Evok Dual Note will be made available for purchase in India starting August 21 (at 12 AM) exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Gold and Prussian Blue (only 4GB variant) colour variants.
As part of an introductory offer, Flipkart is giving best buying offers on the purchase of Micromax Evok Dual Note smartphone that includes an exchange discount of up to Rs. 11,000, and Easy EMI (only Rs. 1,667 per month) option on SBI bank Credit Cards. On the other hand, Idea subscribers will get 84GB 4G data with no daily limit and unlimited voice calling for 3 months at just Rs. 443.
Talking about its specifications, the Micromax Evok Dual Note comes equipped with a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T860 image processing unit to handle the graphics. In terms memory, the Evok Dual Note is backed up by a 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a MicroSD card. Talking about its software front, Micromax Evok Dual Note runs company’s own custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The handset also features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor (housed underneath a pill-sized physical Home button of the device) for biometric security.
In terms of optics, Micromax Evok Dual Note houses a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The camera features also include Sony IMX258 sensor and an LED flash module. The rear camera also supports various different colour filters like monochrome, strong, blackboard, whiteboard, and features 3D capture mode and panorama as well. In addition, the rear camera also comes with real-time Re-Focus option, which allows users to select the focus area of a photo after capturing. On the front, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with a soft light LED flash for capturing bright selfies even in low light situations.
On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Micromax Evok Dual Note offers various connectivity options that include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery front, the smartphone comes packed with a powerful 3000mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 11 hours of talk time, up to 24 hours of music playback time and up to 260 hours of standby time.
