The extraordinary fan remake of Tomb Raider II is now available to try as a demo.
Created by Nicobass and their small team, the remake – made in Unreal Engine 4 and entitled Tomb Raider The Dagger Of Xian – is an impressive feat. The demo, as reported by PC Gamer, shows off the Great Wall level, giving you chance to explore the game for about an hour or so.
And in case you were wondering about the legalities, apparently Crystal Dynamics and publisher Square Enix aren’t drafting up cease and desists anytime soon.
It took almost a year longer than planned to get the demo out, but it’s here now, so help yourself. And here are the minimum specs for PC:
- Windows Seven x64
- Graphic card with Dx11
- 4GB RAM (8GB strongly recommended)
- 6GB free disk space (1.8 gb for the downloaded file and 4 gb for the uncompressed folder)
- Any software able to open a .rar file (like Winrar)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s existence was first revealed when a sharp-eyed commuter photographed someone’s laptop on a Montreal train. Just a few months back, further leaks of key art and logos for the next Tomb Raider game confirmed the name Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and suggested Lara Croft’s next adventure may be set in Central America.
