Home networking and smart home security products manufacturer Netgear has recently launched two new superfast dual-band Wi-Fi routers, dubbed as the “Netgear R6080 & Netgear R6120” in the Indian tech market. Both the superfast routers come with dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) connectivity, offering 3x faster Wi-Fi speeds than the existing Wi-Fi 802.11n technology-powered routers. The newly launched routers also allow users to experience faster internet speed and better reliability while streaming HD videos or online gaming.
The Netgear R6080 is a dual-band (2.4GHz & 5GHz) AC1000 router and has a Wi-Fi access speeds of up to 700Mbps. The Netgear R6080 has been launched in the country with a price tag of Rs. 2,700. On the other hand, the Netgear R6120 is also a dual-band (2.4GHz & 5GHz) AC1200 router and has a maximum Wi-Fi access speeds of up to 900Mbps. With slightly better access speeds, the Netgear R6120 has been priced at Rs. 3,200. Both the new dual-band routers will be made available for purchase in India starting this month via company’s authorised retail stores, e-commerce platforms as well as all-leading offline retail stores across the country.
The Netgear R6080 and Netgear R6120 dual band routers are also compatible with NETGEAR genie app, which allows users to setup the router, add more devices, track internet data usage, diagnose and repair network issues, share and stream music or videos, and set up parental controls on the home network from any iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
The Netgear R6080 and R6120 both feature a total of five 10/100 Ethernet ports, one of which is used for WAN connectivity, while the rest ports are used for LAN connectivity. The Netgear R6080 comes loaded with an 8MB of native flash memory while the Netgear R6120 offers 16MB of flash memory. Further, the top-spec model features a USB 2.0 port to connect printers, external devices or storage devices. Both routers also offer high-level WPA/WPA2 security and secure connections. The Netgear R6120 router also supports a feature called Readyshare USB Access that allows users to find photos, videos and music stored on a shared USB hard drive to enjoy them on a DLNA TV or share them with others wirelessly via its USB 2.0 port.
“To take advantage of higher broadband bandwidth being offered by telecom service providers and to support newer generation AC devices, home users must upgrade their Wi-Fi routers to dual band technology without burning a hole in their pocket,” said Marthesh Nagendra, Country Manager, India and SAARC, Netgear.
“The brand new R6080 & R6120 routers from Netgear pack a 3-in-1 bonanza for home users, combining performance, price and value in one attractive solution,” he added last.
