ZTE sub-brand Nubia has recently launched its mid-range flagship Z17 mini smartphone in the Indian tech market with an upgraded processing unit, RAM and inbuilt storage option. If you don’t remember, the Nubia Z17 mini was first launched in the country in the month of June this year in Snapdragon 652 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage option only. And now the Chinese OEM company has introduced an upgraded variant in the Indian market. Christened as “Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition”, the smartphone has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 21,499 and it is now already made available for purchase in India exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India in Aurora Blue colour option. With the new Snapdragon 653 SoC, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, the Nubia Z17 mini will now be available in two variants: Nubia Z17 mini Snapdragon 653 SoC, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, and Nubia Z17 mini Snapdragon 652 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. However, apart from its hardware job, the rest specifications and features of the Nubia Z17 mini are same to same as we have seen in the other existing Nubia Z17 mini model.

Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition Design:
In terms of design, the new Nubia Z17 mini sports a metal unibody design with a sleek body and thin bezels giving it an overall premium look. Basically, the Nubia Z17 mini looks very similar to its younger sibling Nubia Z17, including the horizontal rear-side dual camera arrangement. It also features on-screen navigation buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, that is housed in the back panel of the device. The volume up-down keys as well as the power/lock buttons are all placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphone and the company’s traditional red circular capacitive home button is situated on the front panel just below the display. A 3.5mm headphone socket is placed on the very top edge of the device, while the speaker grilles are seen at the very bottom edge of the handset along with a USB Type-C charging port sitting in the middle.
Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition Specifications and Features:
In terms of specifications, the Nubia Z17 mini flaunts a 5.2-inch Full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla glass protection on top. The display has a pixel density of 424 ppi and offers 85 percent NTSC colour gamut. The device is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor (4 x 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 & 4 x 1.44GHz A53 CPUs) coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. In terms of memory, the Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition is backed up by a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 200GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition runs company’s proprietary Nubia 4.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
In terms of optics, the new Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition comes with a dual primary camera setup on the rear. One camera sports a 13-megapixel Monochrome sensor, while another camera comes with a 13-megapixel RGB sensor. The rear camera features include Sony IMX258 sensor, an f/2.2 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), 4K video recording support, LED flash and company’s proprietary NeoVision 6.0 software package. On the front, the device features a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with 80-degree wide angle, 5P lens, and f/2.0 aperture. The company says that the Nubia Z17 Mini camera offers 16 different modes other than pro and normal modes. The smartphone’s camera allows you to change the visual angle as you move the phone. It combines multi-view and dynamic features to create an interactive 3D motion picture.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM Nubia Z17 mini Limited Edition supports 2.2 dual-band Wi-Fi technology which allows for better and wider connectivity. Connectivity options on the device also include 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for superfast charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Accelerometer, Gyroscope, E-Compass, Ambient Light sensor, Hall sensor, and Proximity sensor. On the battery front, the Nubia Z17 mini is fuelled by a decent 2,950mAh battery with first charging support. The company claims that the smartphone’s battery is able to deliver up to 28 hours of talk time and up to 400 hours of standby time on a single charge. Dimension wise, the handset measures 146.65 × 72.5 × 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams.
