After a series of many leaks and rumours, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo on Thursday officially announced its latest two camera-centric smartphones, the Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus in the Chinese tech market. The Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus are the company’s second offerings to come with full-screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, after the announcement of the Vivo V7 Plus in India. Design:
In terms of design, both the Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus smartphones borrow a lot of their design languages from company’s latest Vivo V7 Plus. The Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus sport a 3D arc design and a sleek back finish with curved metal edges, meaning that the devices come with a relatively premium build quality. The 3D arc design is specially designed to provide a comfortable grip in your palm. Both the smartphones feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, that is housed on the back panel of the devices. The power-key button and volume up-down keys are all placed on the right-hand edge of the devices and a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very bottom edge of the phone. The horizontally arranged dual rear camera setup is still positioned exactly the top left corner of the rear panel, the front-facing camera is fixed on the top left corner of the front panel. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handsets along with a microUSB charging port sitting in the middle.
Both the smartphones feature fingerprint recognition button and Face Wake facial recognition technology for high-grade biometric security. Face Wake face unlock feature is said to unlock the smartphone in just 0.1 seconds. The company claims that it can detect up to 128 different facial features before proceeding to unlock the device.
