After introducing the Aqua Lions 2 smartphone in India last week, domestic handset manufacturer Intex Technologies on Friday expanded its Aqua series of smartphones portfolio with the launch of an entry-level smartphone, called the “Intex Aqua A4+” in the Indian tech market. The Intex Aqua A4+ is the successor to the company’s previous Aqua A4 smartphone, which was launched in India earlier this year. Priced at Rs. 3,999, the new Intex Aqua A4+ will be soon available for purchase in India via all leading offline retail stores across the country in Champagne and Black colour options. The main highlights of the Intex Aqua A4+ are its 4G VoLTE connectivity and the presence of Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Android 7.0 Nougat introduces notable changes to the OS (operating system) and its development platform. So all the latest features of the OS are present in the device.
Talking about its specifications, the Intex Aqua A4+ sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and offers a pixel density of 245ppi. Under the hood, the smartphone draws its power from a 1.3GHz Spreadtrum SC9822 quad-core processor, which comes paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB with the help of a microSD card slot. On the software (OS) front, the Intex Aqua A4+ runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
In terms of photography, the Intex Aqua A4+ features a 5-megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera with an LED flash module. On the front, the device houses a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for capturing selfies and video chats. The camera features on the smartphone include Panorama, Burst mode, Beauty mode, Audio Picture, and GIF mode.
On the connectivity front, the Intex Aqua A4+ supports dual-SIM dual standby, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery front, the Aqua A4+ is fuelled by a decent 2,000mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient Light sensor and Proximity sensor.
Apart from these specifications, the device also comes with some pre-loaded apps like Xender (a file transfer application), Gaana (popular music streaming app) and a video streaming service called “Amazon Prime Video”, which allow users to enjoy free unlimited access to all their favourite songs and stream and download popular movies and TV Shows.
