After launching the VivoBook S15 and Zenbook UX430 laptops in the Indian market earlier this month, Taiwanese computer hardware company Asus expanded its FX-series of gaming laptop portfolio with the launch of a new compact and powerful notebook, christened as the “Asus FX503”. The Asus FX503 is the successor to Asus’s previous FX502 model, which was launched in October last year. The Asus FX503 ultra-thin gaming laptop comes with the latest 7th Generation Intel Core processor on an Intel HM175 Express chipset and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics with full Microsoft DirectX 12 support, and some really good specifications.
Unfortunately, the pricing details and the availability of the new Asus FX503 have not been revealed by the company yet. But it will be available for purchase in the global markets pretty soon. The FX503 gaming laptop is currently listed on company’s official website without a price tag, revealing almost all the specifications and features about the company’s latest gaming machine. The compact gaming machine is aimed at casual gamers and enthusiasts, as it comes with dedicated gaming powers.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Asus FX503 comes equipped with a 178-degree wide-viewing-angle 15.6-inch full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The display has a refresh rate frequency of 60Hz and offers 45 percent NTSC colour output. Talking about its power and performance, the Asus FX503 high-end variant is powered by the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i7 7700HQ processor, which comes coupled with up to a whopping 32GB of DDR4 RAM. On the other hand, the Asus FX503 base variant is powered by the 7th generation Intel Core i5 7300HQ processor.
In terms of graphics, the Asus FX503 comes loaded with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card with 2GB/4GB of GDDR5 video memory for ultra-smooth and flawless visuals. The machine can be further configured with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 3GB/6GB of GDDR5 video memory for an incredible gaming performance and detailed gaming visuals. The Taiwanese vendor claims that the Asus FX503 delivers superior gaming performance and power efficiency with NVIDIA’S most advanced GPU architecture, called “Pascal” compared to previous generation GPUs. In terms of storage, you can opt for a 1TB 5400RPM/7200RPM SATA HDD, or upgrade to 128GB/256GB/512GB SATA3 M.2 SSD storage for faster data access speeds and boot-up times.
The Asus FX503 comes with a full version of Windows 10 Home (for the base variant) or Windows 10 Pro (for the high-end variant) OS out-of-the-box. The Windows 10-powered gaming machine features an anti-ghosting keyboard, which has been specially-designed with red-backlit scissor-switch keys that offer you 1.8mm of travel distance for tangible keystrokes. The FX503 also has a highlighted WASD key group, N-Key Rollover, a larger space bar and isolated arrow keys ensure that everything you need is kept within easy reach. Further, N-key rollover ensures that all your keystrokes will register, even when hitting multiple keys simultaneously.
The Asus FX503 sports an all-aluminium chassis, which comes with a grey brushed hairline finish, giving it an overall stunning outlook. The latest gaming laptop also features a bright Red Backlit keyboard, and a smooth Multi-Gesture touchpad, which is also outlined in red. Ports on the notebook include three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, one RJ45 LAN port, one 3.5mm combo Audio Jack port for headphone and microphone, and one multi-format Card Reader slot (SD/SDHC).
Connectivity options offered by the laptop include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac with dual-band technology and Bluetooth. Talking about its multimedia department, the Asus FX503 laptop comes with built-in speakers with ICEpower technology support that provides truly rich and crystal-clear sound experience to users in music, movies, and even gaming. The laptop features an HD webcam that offers a wide-angle field of view for making video calls. On the battery front, the Asus FX503 is fuelled by a 64 WHr 4 Cells battery and that has been claimed to deliver a decent battery life. Dimensionally, the laptop measures at 384 x 262 x 24 mm (W x D x H) and weighs only 2.3 kg.
