India’s second largest telecom operator, Vodafone India has recently launched a new SuperWeek plan for its prepaid subscribers. The new announcement comes just four days after Vodafone announced its partnership with Micromax and launched a new affordable smartphone, called the “Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra” in the Indian market at an effective price of Rs. 999. However, the Vodafone SuperWeek Rs. 69 plan offers its prepaid customers unlimited voice calling (local + STD), along with 500MB of 3G or 4G (depending on the circle) mobile data for 7 days on a recharge of just Rs. 69.
Under this “Rs. 69 SuperWeek” special recharge plan, Vodafone prepaid subscribers recharging with Rs. 69 can avail free unlimited voice calling to any network and any region in the country, along with 500MB of 3G or 4G (depending on the circle) mobile data for a period of 7 days. Note that, the new recharge plan is applicable for Vodafone prepaid subscribers only and valid for seven days from the date of recharge. Subscribers can also opt for unlimited repeat purchases of the new weekly plan. All Vodafone prepaid subscribers with 2G, 3G or 4G-enabled handsets can avail this offer and enjoy the data strong network’s best value voice and data proposition in the dedicated period.
Vodafone subscribers will be able to recharge the new Rs. 69 SuperWeek plan via all Vodafone Stores, Mini stores, USSD, Vodafone website, and multi-brand retail outlets across the country. Notably, the price of the new plan will be varied depending on telecom circle. In some circles, the Rs. 69 SuperWeek pack costs Rs. 73, and in some circles it costs Rs. 69. Customers can also avail this new recharge plan through MyVodafone App.
Commenting on the launch of the new SuperWeek plan, Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director, Consumer Business, Vodafone India, said, “We, at Vodafone, believe in providing the best network, service experience and value to our customers. With SuperWeek, the key objective is to offer a pocket-friendly and affordable unlimited plan that will appeal to all prepaid consumers. This plan will further enable our customers to remain confidently connected and enjoy a worry-free Vodafone SuperNet 4G experience on our best network ever.”
With the launch of its Rs. 69 SuperWeek plan, Vodafone India is aggressively going to compete against its rival telecom operators — Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, BSNL, Idea Cellular, Aircel, and others. Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio is also offering similar kind of plans to the Rs. 69 plan being offered by Vodafone. Reliance Jio prepaid customers recharging with Rs. 52 can avail unlimited voice calling facility (all networks, Local+STD), 70 SMSes, along with 1.05GB of 4G data (a daily FUP limit of 0.15GB) for a validity period of 7 days.
In the Indian telecom industry, the revolutionary entry of Reliance Jio has created a new storm and changed the entire telecom scenario with its highly affordable tariff plans and forced the other telecom giants to reduce their data and calling rates. To counter Reliance Jio’s tariff plans, other leading telecom operators have already refreshed their tariff and first recharge plans by launching affordable data and voice-centric recharge plans in the Indian market. They have been trying really hard to establish new market strategies and come up with aggressive plans to compete against the Reliance Jio.
