After introducing the Blade X budget phone and Axon M foldable smartphone in the US market, Chinese handset manufacturer ZTE on Monday expanded its Blade series of smartphone portfolio with the launch of a new budget-friendly device, dubbed as the “ZTE Blade A3” in the Chinese tech market. Carried a sticker price of CNY 799 (approximately Rs. 7,800), the new ZTE Blade A3 is currently now listed on Chinese e-commerce website JD.com and the company’s official online retail store for pre-order, while the same will be going on sale in China starting November 6 (Monday) via the same online retailers in Glacier Blue and Obsidian Black colour options. Unfortunately, the pricing details and availability of the ZTE Blade A3 for other markets have not been revealed by the company yet. The major highlights of the smartphone are its dual front-facing camera setup, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Face Unlock feature support, and a mammoth 4,000mAh battery.

ZTE Blade A3 Specifications and Features:

In terms of specifications, the ZTE Blade A3 sports a 5.5-inch HD TFT display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top. Talking about its power and performance, the smartphone draws its power from a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6737T quad-core processor, which comes paired with a dedicated GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the device is backed up by a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. On the software front, the ZTE Blade A3 runs company’s proprietary MiFavor UI 4.2 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. For biometric security, the smartphone features a rear-mounted fingerprint recognition button, located just middle of the back panel of the device. Apart from this, the ZTE Blade A3 also supports Face Unlock feature for more safe and fast authentication process.

In terms of optics, the ZTE Blade A3 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter with autofocus and an LED flash. On the front, the smartphone features a dual front-facing camera setup that comes combined with a 5-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Both the front-facing cameras come accompanied by a soft LED flashlight for capturing bright selfies even in low-light situations.

On the connectivity front, the ZTE Blade A3 supports dual-SIM dual standby connectivity using a triple card slot. Apart from this, the smartphone also offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and other connectivity. Sensors on the device include Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted), Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor and Gravity sensor. On the battery front, the new ZTE Blade A3 comes packed with a mammoth 4,000mAh non-removable battery that is rated to offer a whole day worth battery life on a single charge. Dimensionally, the handset measures at 152 x 75.8 x 8.2 mm and weighs 164 grams.
