Just another day at the office for India. Large scores were forecasted but this was too clinical from Indian batters. Bangladesh bowlers were literally toyed by them.Lets take a look at the performances of today:
Virat Kohli scored a double ton(204 off 246 balls). He continuing his innings from where he left. Started aggressively and played 360°. The Indian skipper has now got 4 double hundreds in the last 4 test series. Meanwhile,he also took his average above 52.
Wriddhiman Saha had some points to prove before today. He managed to do it with a fine century(106* off 155 balls). He was picked in the team ahead of Parthiv Patel who performed superb in the England series. Captain sent Saha ahead of Ashwin giving saha an all important morale boost.
Ajinkya Rahane(82 off 133 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja(60* off 78 balls) also did no harm to their averages.Rahane making his comeback showed his elegance once again and Jadeja played with aggresion as India neared declaration. Rahane fell to a superb catch from Mehedi Hasan. Jadeja’s warrior celebration was a treat to watch.
Taijul Islam did the all important of sending Virat Kohli back but it was too late. He picked up 3 wickets.Coming toward the end of the day bamgladesh was left with a single task of keeping all 10 wickets in the bag. But a couple of overs before stumps Yadav sent Soumya Sarkar packing to make matters worse for the tigers.
Fate of this test match depends totally on how Bangladesh batters will perform on Day 3. Ashwin and Jadeja must be licking their lips after seeing the turn later in the day. Another testing day awaits Bamgladesh.
