IPL 10 AUCTION: Stokes, Mills rake in big bucks; Tahir misses

Things turned out pretty well in the 2017 Indian Premier League Auction on Monday (February 20) in Bengaluru. No doubt, this auction was one classy affair. It witnessed IPL’s second highest buy ever in form of Ben Stokes. Teams came prepared with their permutations and combinations. As always some world class players went unsold and some unknown ones raked in hefty amounts. IPL never fails to surprise us..!!

Ben Stokes ( 14.5 Cr) will join the likes of Dhoni, Smith, Du Plessis and will most probably play in place of Mitchell Marsh. A match winner like stokes was the very need of team and they hit the bull’s eye with this buy. “We have many heroes, but this is one hero we were lacking,” team owner Sanjeev Goenka said on the decision.

Tymal Mills ( 12 Cr) was the second highest buy of the auction. His recent performances on India tour against likes of Dhoni and Kohli gave him brownie points, luring every team to bid. With all his variations and T-20 expertise, RCB have made a smart buy, considering their power-packed batting line-up and they now boast of the most potent attack on paper.

Kagiso Rabada ( 5 Cr)is the hottest property in world cricket at the moment. Delhi were spot on with their pick. However, considering they already have the likes of Carlos Braithwaite, Morris, de Kock and Sam Billings in their ranks, the think-tank – Rahul Dravid and Paddy Upton – will have to do a lot of juggling to find the perfect combination.
