Chinese electronics company TCL-owned mobile device brand Alcatel has recently launched its new affordable Pixi 4 (7) tablet in India. Alcatel Pixi 4 (7) is the successor to company’s 6-inch super-sized Alcatel Pixi 4(6) phablet, which was released in India earlier this month at Rs.9100. The new Pixi 4 (7) has been launched in two variants, Alcatel Pixi 4 (7) 4G and Alcatel Pixi 4 (7) Wi-Fi, and is already made available for purchase exclusively on e-commerce website Flipkart at Rs. 6,499 and Rs. 3,999 respectively in the country, while the Alcatel Pixi 4(6) is sold via offline retail stores.
Commenting on the launch, Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India said, “The Pixi 4 (7) series isn’t just a tablet. It is an all in one package, which is made for a hassle free and seamless user experience. Continuing with Pixi 4 (6) success we want to target the millennials who enjoy watching movies while on the move. The phone provides 8.25 hours of video playback and designed to be ultra -sleek, dust and splash proof.”

In terms of specifications, the Alcatel Pixi 4(7) 4G tablet sports a 7-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 Pixels. The Pixi 4 (7) 4G is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK8735D processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. In terms of memory, the new Alcatel 4G tablet comes with a 16 GB of inbuilt memory, which can be further expanded up to 64 GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The Alcatel Pixi 4(7) comes in Smoky Grey and Volcano Black colour variants.
In terms of photography, the Alcatel Pixi 4(7) 4G variant features an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for making video calls and capturing selfies. Connectivity options include dual-SIM dual standby support, 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm Audio port, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Proximity and G-Sensor. The Pixi 4 (7) 4G tablet houses a 4000mAh battery that should give a better battery performance on this device. The tablet measures 190.2 x 106 x 8.9mm, and weighs 260 grams.

Coming second to the Alcatel Pixi 4 (7) Wi-Fi variant, Pixi 4(7) Wi-Fi tablet also sports a 7-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 Pixels. The Pixi 4 (7) Wi-Fi is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT8127 quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. In terms of memory, the new Alcatel Wi-Fi variant comes with an 8 GB of inbuilt memory, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Unlike the other low-budget tablets, the Pixi 4(7) Wi-Fi variant is also dust and splash proof.

Being a downgraded model (compared to the 4,000mAh on the 4G variant), the Pixi 4(7) Wi-Fi variant houses a 2,580mAh battery and measures 189.2 x 107.6 x 9.15mm and weighs 250 grams.
