Arsenal face a tough task ahead of them in the Champions League round 16. Arsenal takes on Bayern Munich in Allianz Arena tomorrow.
Arsenal is in a bit of slump. They have only managed to win once in their last three games. After losing back to back matches to Watford and Chelsea, Arsenal beat Hull City 2-0. The losses put a damper on Arsenal’s title hopes. Thus, a win against Bayern will keep them in the hunt for a champions league title. Another catch here is that Arsenal has never progressed past the round of 16 in Champions League for past 6 seasons.
The Arsenal defence will have their hands full. Bayern Forward Robert Lewandowski is on a scoring spree having scored 9 goals in last 10 matches. Also with Robben healthy and Muller in the front three, Arsenal will be busy all night.
Arsenal Vs Bayern Munich kicks off at 1:15 am IST tomorrow
On the other side, Carlo Ancelotti and Bayern are playing good football recently. They lead the RB Leipzig by 7 points in Bundesliga. The Bavarian’s defence is impressive as they have not conceded more than one goal in last 12 matches. But a shortage of goals scored is a problem for this side.
Franck Ribery has a chance to play after returning to training. Xabi Alonso is doubtful as well after limping out of training. Other than Jerome Boateng who is still nursing a shoulder injury, Ancelotti has all his other players healthy.
Bayern defence should have no problem in containing Sanchez but should be vary of the Gunners. The Gunners boast some solid play makers in its side including Ozil, Sanchez and Walcott.
Bayern looks favourite to take the first leg tomorrow at home. But should look to avoid giving Arsenal easy away goals. Arsenal on the other hand should forget the ghost of the past and execute its game plan perfectly and hopefully win the tie.
