We have cherished all Chris Nolan movies so far, right? And there’s no denying of this ‘universal fact’, given the master filmmaker’s ability to craft a compelling cinematic world which keeps the viewer ever engaged. And when it comes to the beloved Dark Knight trilogy? No explanations, for this particular DC series which was rebooted by Nolan in such a way that Batman became something more than a regular superhero character-an inspiration!

And that’s what Nolan did with all his three DC films way back then, from 2005-2012, to create something that has now set a benchmark for all present superhero movies.

But, as it seems now, the new installments from DC’s rebooted universe aren’t that same when compared to the genius of Nolan’s Dark Knight series (Wonder Woman being an exception), whether it be the storyline, the plot, the characters, or the overall presentation and performance.

And now, Chris Nolan, himself has opened up on the new DC films!

Speaking at a recent event in BAFTA, Nolan told that what made him make those Batman movies the way they were, was the freedom of time, allowed by the producers.

“That’s a privilege and a luxury that filmmakers aren’t afforded anymore. I think it was the last time that anyone was able to say to a studio, ‘I might do another one, but it will be four years.’

There’s too much pressure on release schedules to let people do that now but creatively it’s a huge advantage. We had the privilege and advantage to develop as people and as storytellers and then bring the family back together.”

Well, it’s obviously unlikely that Nolan will ever return to make another (new) DC film to infuse a breath of fresh air into the ‘struggling’ DCEU, it will be crucial to see how the upcoming films will perform-good, bad or even more worse!
