Christopher Nolan’s World War II masterpiece Dunkirk has now officially crossed the mark of $400 million, at the worldwide box-office. The movie was an unexpected blockbuster during its release as predictions were not so high for the legendary 70mm war-drama. Still, grossing around $50.5 million in the opening weekend itself, was a proof, that Warner Bros. was going to have one more big time after this summer’s benchmark, DC’s Wonder Woman.
Sitting proudly on Rotten Tomatoes as a 93% certified fresh flick, Dunkirk revolves around the rescue mission of around 400,000 soldiers from the beaches of Dunkirk.
According to ‘Box-office mojo’, Chris Nolan’s epic war movie has now earned a total of around $412 million, globally. This is a positive sign for the makers of the film, when considering the budget, being around $100 million. And it has already made more than twice of its production cost now.
