the auspicious eve of Nowruz. Nowruz is Iranian new year, and it celebrated globally by the Iranians along with some other etho-linguistic groups.
Nowruz is the day of the vernal equinox, it also indicates the beginning of spring in northern
hemisphere and this it comes every year around this time only i.e about 21 March. The moment the sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year and then, come together and perform rituals.
Nowruz is celebrated from over 3,000 years mainly in the regions of Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin and even Balkans. It marks the first day of Farvadin, first month in Iranian calendar. Nowruz is celebrated by Kurdish people in Iraq and Turkey and by Parsis in Indian subcontinent.
Many countries like Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Iraq and others have National Holiday for Nowruz. In 2009, Canadian Parliament had passed an bill to add Nowruz to the national calendar of Canada. In 2010 even the United Nations officially recognized Nowruz or Persian as an International holiday.
Traditionally, this festival brings family together, it allows people to spend time with their
and dear ones, they spend time around Haft Seen, which is a table top arrangement of seven symbolic items and people also exchange gifts and greetings. It is followed by a great lunch or dinner which has Sabzi Polo Mahi or fish and herbed rice.
