Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi has now officially overtaken Disney/Marvel’s 2013’s Iron Man 3 to become the 12th highest grossing film of all-time! The 8th episode in the Star Wars saga has fared in a mixed manner to the fans of the hit franchise.
The Last Jedi’s worldwide total has now reached to $1.215 billion and it’s really a great figure for the movie to carry some more momentum forward on the box-office track.
Though, the performance is 34% behind its predecessor, The Force Awakens, its doing better than the last year’s prequel, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, at 32%.
The collections from domestic and overseas markets, separately, are also impressive, but the amount from the international regions has been a really strong ‘force’ for The Last Jedi.
While, domestically the movie has grossed around $574.5 million, it has earned $640.8 million from the overseas countries!
Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still running successfully in theaters.
