Besides this, the company has also started teasing the Moto X4 smartphone on its social media channels including Twitter and Facebook. The Tweet reads, “Get ready for an #xperience unlike any other with the #MotoX4. If you don’t remember, Motorola launched their premium mid-range Moto X4 in September at the IFA tradeshow event in Berlin. The Moto X4 comes in Sterling Blue and Super Black colour options and was introduced for €399 (approximately Rs. 30,700). In the Indian smartphone market, the Moto X4 will likely to be priced somewhere in between the Rs. 26,000 and Rs. 28,000.
Recollecting some key specifications of the smartphones, the Moto X4 flaunts a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of the display. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 508 image processing unit to handle the graphics content. In terms of memory, the Moto X4 comes in two variants based on its RAM and native storage configuration: Moto X4 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage (for the Europe, North America and Latin America markets) and Moto X4 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (for the Asia Pacific region). The internal storage is further expandable via a microSDXC card slot. On the software front, the Moto X4 runs on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
In terms of photography, the Moto X4 houses a horizontally arranged dual rear camera setup that comes combined with one 12-megapixel primary camera with dual autofocus, an f/2.0 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, and one 8-megapixel secondary camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and ultra-wide angle with 120-degree field of view sensor for depth-of-field effects. Further, the handset features an adaptive low light mode that offers better low light performance when the ambient light is not enough.
The other highlighted feature in this phone is its AI assistant as the Moto X4 comes integrated with Amazon’s Alexa powered AI assistant, which can be accessed even when the device is locked via a voice command. Apart from this, the Moto X4 also comes loaded with Moto Key feature, which allows users to access password-protected web pages on the phone or laptop by using fingerprint sensor instead of typing the actual password. The smartphone also features front-mounted fingerprint sensor (Beneath screen) and a new wireless audio streaming software powered by Tempow that lets you connect the Moto X4 to up to 4 Wireless/Bluetooth speakers simultaneously. The Moto X4’s body has achieved IP68 certification, which means the device is water and dust resistant which is a unique selling point these days.
