HMD Global is a Finnish start-up company, which has the official permit to manufacture, distribute and sell Nokia-branded smartphones worldwide. Now the company is all set to launch its most awaited and talked Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 mid-range smartphones in India today. HMD Global is hosting a launch event in New Delhi today where the company is expected to reveal the pricing details and India availability of its most anticipated mid-range Android smartphones. To recall, HMD global first showcased these Android-powered smartphones along with the Nokia 3310 feature phone at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona back in February. And there the company announced that the new Nokia Android smartphones and the new Nokia 3310 will be launched in the Indian markets sometime middle of this year. As it happens, the nostalgic Nokia 3310 has already made its debut on the Indian tech market last month.
Nokia 6
In terms of specification, Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS 2.5D design display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a fingerprint sensor below the display. It also features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. The Nokia 6 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card support up to 128GB. The phone packs a 3000mAh battery. The Nokia 6 has a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera sensor. Nokia 6 sports a metal unibody design with a glossy black body. As for pricing, the Nokia 6 was announced at a price tag of €229 and it is rumoured that the Nokia 6 in India will be priced at Rs 16,000.
Nokia 5
Nokia 5 comes with a 5.2-inch HD screen and features a fingerprint sensor. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its camera, Nokia 5 has a 13-megapixel sensor on the back and 8-megapixel sensor on the front. Other features of the smartphone include Micro-USB 2.0, 4G LTE support, NFC and 3000mAh battery. The Nokia 5 was first announced at a price tag of €189 and is rumoured to be priced at Rs 12,000 in India.
Nokia 3
Nokia 3 has a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK 6737 SoC, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB), 8-megapixel cameras on the front and back, Micro-USB 2.0, NFC and a 2650mAh battery. The Nokia 3 sports a plastic body with a polycarbonate back cover. The Nokia 3 comes in four attractive body colour options including Silver White, Copper White, Matte Black, and Tempered Blue. The Nokia 3 was launched at a price tag of €139 and the latest rumours suggest that the phone will become available at Rs. 9,990 in India.
On the software fronts, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 smartphones are all powered by the Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and have stock Android UI. Nokia has promised that the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 smartphones will all be receiving the latest Android O version at some point.
