To recall, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo launched their premium flagship smartphone, Oppo R11 in China in the month of June with three attractive body shade options including Gold, Rose Gold and Black. Now, the company has introduced a special FC Barcelona edition of its premium smartphone Oppo R11 in its homeland, China. Priced at CNY 3499 (roughly Rs. 33,500/US$ 523), the new Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition will be made available for purchase in China starting August 18 (Friday) at 10 AM via Oppo’s official online retail store. This is the company’s third smartphone to feature a special FC Barcelona edition after Oppo F1 Plus and Oppo R7 Plus. All these special edition smartphones have been introduced in the country to celebrate Oppo’s partnership with FC Barcelona.
Dubbed as the “Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition” the new special edition of Oppo R11 comes decorated with a red & blue colour scheme and an 18K gold-plated Barca emblem at the rear panel. Not only that, the Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition also features an FC Barcelona-themed UI so that Barcelona fans can customize their own phone as their own style.
In terms of design, the Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition sports a sleek all-metal unibody design with a metal frame all around, giving it an overall premium look. The device is painted in blue colour at the upper portion and red at the bottom portion of the rear panel. The border between the blue and coloured portion beautifies a fine strip of Gold coloured line. The Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition also features capacitive navigation touch buttons and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, that is housed underneath the physical Home Button of the device. The volume rockers are placed on the left-hand edge, while the power/lock button is situated on the right-hand edge of the smartphone. A 3.5mm audio socket and the speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 charging port sitting in the middle.
The Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition packs the perfect blend of glass and metal design, elegant looks, daintiness and luxuriousness, which are all associated with the Oppo brand and FC Barcelona club insignia. However, apart from its special touch, the rest specifications and features are same to same as we have seen in the other existing Oppo R11 models.
Technically speaking, Oppo R11 Barcelona Edition comes equipped with a 5.5 inch AMOLED Full-HD 2.5D curved glass display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass and a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 512 graphics processing unit. In terms of memory, the Oppo R11 Barcelona Edition is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Oppo R11 Barcelona Edition runs on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with company’s ColorOS 3.1 FC Barcelona-themed custom UI skin running on top.
In terms of photography, the new Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition features a dual rear camera setup with an LED flash module. One camera sports a 20-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens, while another camera comes with a 16-megapixel sensor. The rear camera features include PDAF, 2x lossless Zoom, Portrait Mode, and Qualcomm Spectra ISP for image processing. On the front, the smartphone houses a 20-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts two Nano-SIM cards. Apart from this, the device also supports various connectivity options that include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, hotspot, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the Oppo R11 FC Barcelona Edition comes packed with a decent 2900mAh non-removable battery with company’s VOOC Flash charging support for fast battery charging. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Fingerprint (front-mounted), Proximity sensor, E-compass, and Gyroscope sensors. Dimension wise, the handset measures 154.5 x 74.8 x 6.8mm and weighs 150 grams.
