After the launch of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, South Korean tech giant Samsung recently launched a brand new “Fast Charge Portable Battery Pack,” having a capacity of 5100mAh. Samsung claims that this battery pack will provide up to two full charges from 0 to 100 percent on most of the recent smartphones. The portable battery pack – model number EB-PG950 is priced at $59.99 (approximately Rs. 3,870) and you can buy it either from Samsung online store or from Amazon in the US.
Unlike most power banks, Samsung Portable Battery Pack comes with two USB ports – a standard USB port and a USB Type-C port. The package also includes a microUSB to USB cable and a microUSB to USB-C adapter. Samsung presents the new battery pack as being an ideal accessory for company’s latest flagship smartphones (Samsung S8 and S8+), despite the fact that the commercial video only shows a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge being charged using the battery pack. The battery pack can also deliver ‘1.5x fast charging’ on compatible devices that support Samsung Fast Charge, which includes Samsung’s recent high-end phones.
Samsung put an LED power indicator on top of the Portable Battery Pack that shows you how much power is left and a handy strap for comfortable holding and carry it more easily. In addition, you can also charge the Samsung Fast Charge Portable Battery Pack and the smartphone simultaneously with its ‘pass-through’ charging functionality. If your device doesn’t support Samsung Fast Charge, it will simply charge at a standard 2A output.
The casing of the “Samsung Fast Charge Portable Battery Pack” comes included with a battery pack, a Micro-USB cable, and a Micro USB to USB Type-C adapter. The portable power pack device is made available in silver and navy blue colour variants.
