After launching the Blade X Max smartphone in the US, Shenzhen-based handset manufacturer ZTE on Monday launched an another mid-range smartphone, dubbed as “ZTE V870” in the Chinese tech market. Carried a price tag of CNY 2,699 (approximately $400 or Rs. 25,500), the new ZTE V870 is now available for purchase through the all major retail stores across the country (China) in Metallic Silver colour option. As of now, the company has not revealed the launch details and availability of the smartphone for other markets.
In terms of design, the new ZTE mid-ranger sports a full metal body with metal edges all around giving it a premium look. The new ZTE V870 features capacitive navigation buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the device. The volume rockers are placed on the right-hand edge, while the power/lock button is situated on the left-hand edge of the smartphone. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 port sitting in the middle. And a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the device.
ZTE V870 specifications:
In terms of specifications, the ZTE V870 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. The device is powered by a 64-bit 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) processor coupled with Adreno 505 to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the ZTE V870 is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the device runs company’s custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of photography, the ZTE V870 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. On the front side, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for making video call and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM (Nano+Nano) ZTE V870 offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE cat.4, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, a 3.5mm Audio port, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3000mAh non-removable battery. The ZTE V870 also features a fingerprint sensor for biometric security. Dimension wise, the handset measures at 156 x 76 x 7.8 mm.
