Soon after announcing the Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro smartphones in the Indian tech market, Taiwanese PC hardware and smartphone manufacturer Asus on Monday expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new selfie-centric smartphone, dubbed as the “Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite” in the Philippines. The Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite is currently now listed on the company’s Philippines website and the phone will go on sale in the Philippines sometime later this month. Sadly, the pricing details of the smartphone have not been revealed by the Taiwanese vendor yet but the ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite is expected to be priced between $156 (approx. Rs. 10,200) and $176 (approx. Rs. 11,500). The smartphone will be available in four body colour options including Deepsea Black, Mint Green, Rose Pink, and Sunlight Gold.

In terms of specifications, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. The display offers 400 nits of brightness and features a Bluelight Filter that is helpful for user’s eyes during prolonged usage. Under the hood, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core chipset, which comes paired with a dedicated Adreno 308 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory storage, the smartphone is backed by a 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 2TB with the help of a dedicated microSD card slot.

Talking about its software (OS), the device runs company’s own ZenUI 4.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. The ZenUI 4.0 custom skin comes with exciting new features for a simpler, secure and more personalized experience. The smartphone also features a front-mounted (underneath the physical Home button) fingerprint sensor for the biometric authentication process. The company claims that the fingerprint sensor unlocks the smartphone just within 0.3 seconds.

In terms of photography, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite features a 13-megapixel rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), Full-HD video recording support and an LED Flash module for excellent low-light photography. On the front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture lens, and Softlight LED flash to capture bright selfies even in low-light situations. Apart from this, the front-facing camera also features Real-Time Beautification Mode, Selfie Panorama, and Asus’s SelfieMaster technology to add real-time beautification effects on both the selfie photos and videos.

In terms of connectivity, the Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite supports dual-SIM dual standby, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope, E-Compass and a front-mounted Fingerprint (underneath the Home button) sensor. On the battery front, the ZenFone 4 Selfie Lite is fuelled by a powerful 3,000mAh battery. Other features on the phone include a powerful 5-magnet speaker, DTS audio, Dual internal microphones with Asus Noise Reduction Technology support. Dimension wise, the handset measures 155.66 x 75.9 x 7.85 mm and weighs 144 grams.
