Velai Illa Pattathaari was Dhanush’s blockbuster Tamil film which released in 2014. Commonly known as VIP, this comedy-drama film focused on the theme of unemployed graduates in our country. The film featured Dhanush as an unemployed graduate who struggled for four years and overcomed several hurdles before climbing the social ladder.
Velai Illa Pattathaari was released on July 18, 2014 and the films next installment starring Kajol and Dhanush in lead roles is expected to hit the theatres very soon. Sources have it that the filmmakers are eyeing for a similar date for ‘Velai Illa Pattathaari 2′, and may get it on screens from July 14, 2017.
Bollywood actress Kajol makes a comeback in Tamil cinema with VIP 2 after almost two decades. This fresh pairing is something the audience has been waiting for eagerly. The first installment saw actress Amala Paul as the lead, and Vivek, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthirakani were seen in supporting roles. VIP 2 has retained these actors from the first part. VIP 2 will see Kajol essaying the role of an arrogant industrialist and is pitted against Dhanush in the film.
VIP 2 is produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations. The music is created by Sean Roldan, the guy who won hearts with his musical score for Dhanush’s directorial debut Power Paandi.
