After launching Y3 (2017) and Y7 smartphones earlier this month, Huawei on Wednesday added a new smartphone to its Y series portfolio with the launch of an another 4G LTE smartphone, dubbed as “Huawei Y6 (2017).” Currently, the new smartphone has been listed on Huawei’s official France website. The pricing and availability of the Huawei Y6 (2017) has not been revealed by the company yet but we can expect this smartphone’s price will fall within mid-range budget. The new member of the Huawei Y series will be made available in 3 attractive body colour options including Gold, White, and Gray.

In terms of specifications, the Huawei Y6 (2017) sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6737T quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. In terms of memory, the Huawei Y6 (2017) comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software fonts, Huawei Y6 (2017) runs company’s own EMUI 4.1 custom skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
In terms of photography, Huawei Y6 (2017) sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. On the front, the smartphone has a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor with flash support for video calling and capturing selfies.
On the connectivity front, the device supports 4G with LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, and a microUSB v2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensor on the device include Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, Digital Compass, Ambient Light Sensor and Proximity sensor. Huawei Y6 (2017) is fuelled by a decent 3000mAh polymer battery and measures 143.8 x 72 x 8.45mm and weighs 150 grams.
