Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone, which is rumoured to be called the OnePlus 5T, in November this year. To recall, the first edition of the smartphone, Oneplus 3T was first launched in November 2016 after announcing the OnePlus 3 in June in the same year, so from this perspective, the timeframe matches as well. However, there are numerous leaks and rumours about the OnePlus 5T have been surfaced on the various websites from the last couple of months. The OnePlus 5T has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of the launch which does reveal a gist of specifications and features about the device. Many rumours and leaks have claimed that the unknown flagship phone will be named OnePlus 5T.
Leaks and rumours around the OnePlus next flagship smartphone have been taking place, and now the OnePlus 5T with specs has been found listed on a smartphone retail website called OppoMart, which shows the smartphone will have a 6-inch full-screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Carried a starting price tag of $549 (approximately Rs. 35,761), the OnePlus 5T is currently listed on OppoMart website for ‘Pre-order’, while the estimated shipment of the next OnePlus flagship phone will start from the end of November 2017.
As per Oppomart listing, the OnePlus 5T will sport a 6-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,160 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The display will also be protected by a scratch resistance 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. In terms of memory, the OnePlus 5T will be offered in two variants based on its RAM and internal storage configuration: OnePlus 5T with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB UFS 2.1 storage and OnePlus 5T with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. On the software front, the OnePlus 5T will run company’s own Oxygen OS, based on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating (will receive Android 8.0 Oreo update soon).
In terms of photography, the OnePlus 5T is expected to sport a horizontally arranged dual rear camera setup consisting of one 20-megapixel primary sensor with Sony IMX398 sensor, an f/1.7 aperture, and one 16-megapixel secondary sensor with Sony IMX350 sensor and an f/2.6 aperture. On the front, it will sport a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter with Sony IMX371 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture for capturing better low-light selfies and making video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 5T will support dual-SIM dual standby, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz & 5.0GHz), Bluetooth. The smartphone will also sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric security. On the battery front, the OnePlus 5T is expected to pack a 3450mAh non-removable battery and will support company’s proprietary Dash Charge fast charging technology using a 5V/4A adaptor. Dimension wise, the handset will measure 157 x 75.4 x 7.25 mm and weigh 164 grams. The 64GB OnePlus 5T has been priced at $549, while the 128GB OnePlus 5T variant is currently listed on Oppomart with a price tag of $649 and will be available in Grey colour option.
