Y Gee Mahendra is one of the few Kollywood stars who is doing his best to keep the theatre art alive. His dramas are still most welcomed by theatre enthusiasts. Mixed with humour and reality his plays guarantee to the core entertainment.

On Saturday, he had a surprise guest to watch his play ‘Kaasedhan Kadavulada’. It was none other than the SuperStar Rajinikanth himself. He had come to watch the play on his own accompanied by his wife and grandchildren. The superstar who is well-known as a family lover proved it once again. He seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the play and posed for selfies with the crew.

An elated Y Gee said that the SuperStar appreciated his enthusiasm in carrying the legacy of theatre art. Rajinikanth also mentioned that Y Gee has not lost the energy and passion he possessed 30 years ago. ‘Mouna Ragam’ fame Karthik was also present, since the play was adapted from the movie that starred his father, Muthuraman. Dancing legend, Padma Subramanyam and Kollywood’s evergreen female comedian, Kovai Sarala were other guests who watched Y Gee’s play.

Interestingly, Ulaga Nayagan Kamala Haasan was the guest on Sunday which marked the 65th show of the play. The actor who had other commitments couldn’t watch the full length of the play. But he addressed the gathering, spoke in praise of Y Gee and his play and distributed mementos to the crew members.
