Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari Auto on Wednesday launched its two new 4-seater grand tourers, christened as the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T and Ferrari GTC4Lusso in the Indian four-wheeler market. The all-new Ferrari GTC4Lusso T has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 4.20 crore, while the more powerful Ferrari GTC4Lusso variant is priced at Rs. 5.20 crore. The key difference between the two luxury vehicles is their engine configuration as the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T comes engineered with a turbocharged V8 engine, whereas the Ferrari GTC4Lusso is powered by a more powerful V12 engine with all-wheel drive option. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T and GTC4Lusso supercar replace the facelifted Ferrari FF in the Italian supercar manufacturer’s stable in India. As compared to the FF, the Ferrari GTC4Lusso sports an aggressive front fascia, a more balanced shooting brake design language, more aggressive rear fenders, and a new diffuser at the back.
Engine and Power
The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that generates 610bhp of peak power @ 7,500 rpm and 760Nm of peak torque between 3,000 and 5,250 rpm. The turbocharged engine comes mated to a 7-speed F1 DCT automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. The new Ferrari GTC4Lusso T grand tourer needs only 3.5 seconds to reach 100kmph from engine start and has an electronically restricted top speed of 320km per hour.
On the other hand, the Ferrari GTC4Lusso is powered by a more powerful 6.2-litre V12 petrol engine that produces an impressive 681bhp of peak power @ 8,000 rpm and 697Nm of peak torque @ 5,750rpm. The engine comes mated to a same 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to the all four wheels via a four-wheel drive system. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso needs only 3.2 seconds to reach 100kmph from engine start and has an electronically restricted top speed of 335km per hour. It further comes with rear-wheel steering system with Ferrari 4RM-S all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel-steering system is integrated with the electronic differential, traction control system, magnetic suspension system, Side Slip Control (SSC3) and electronic stability control system (ESP 9.0) to provide the best traction under any kind of road and weather conditions.
Exterior & Interior
As we mentioned earlier, the 2017 Ferrari GTC4Lusso T and Ferrari GTC4Lusso borrow their styling from the company’s previous facelifted version of the FF. The vehicle gets an aggressive front fascia, a new front grille with larger front air intakes, tweaked headlamps, flared wheel arches, more aggressive rear fenders, and a new diffuser at the back. The side profile sports a more balanced shooting brake design language and large alloy wheels, while the rear profile gets the Ferrari’s signature quad LED taillights and a traditional quad exhaust setup. Dimensionally, the four-seater car measures 4,922mm in length, 1,980mm in width, 1383mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,990 mm. The car has fuel tank capacity of 91 litres and has a dry weight of 1,790 kg.
Inside the cabin, the Ferrari GTC4Lusso gets a premium leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, a large 10.25-inch infotainment touch-screen display that supports satellite Navigation, split view and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, the car also features an additional 8.8-inch touchscreen display for the front passenger that also displays speed, RPM meter, gear-indicator and it can connect with a smartphone using Apple CarPlay. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso T and Ferrari GTC4Lusso also gets a new “Dual Cockpit” architecture at the front, a driver cockpit and a passenger cockpit, divided by a centre console. So that, all four passengers get sufficient space inside the car and make their journey comfortable.
In this price segment, both the Ferrari GTC4Lusso T and the GTC4Lusso grand tourers will compete against the likes of Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Aventador and Aston Martin DB11.
