Aditya Birla group’s Idea Cellular on Thursday announced its partnership with the e-commerce website Flipkart to offer best data benefits and unlimited voice calling for those consumers who buy a new 4G-enabled smartphone through Flipkart. Customers buying a new 4G smartphone through domestic e-commerce portal Flipkart can avail up to 30GB of 4G data per month with no daily limit. The new offer is available for both existing as well as new Idea network subscribers. Along with data benefits, the customers will also get affordable prices on the selected range of smartphones, special exchange offers and even cash back on Flipkart.
Speaking on the new data offer, Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, said, “Idea and Flipkart have partnered to enable more Indians get online and use mobile internet on 4G smartphones. Through this association, Idea gets access to savvy online customers with heavy data usage. Our offering of 30GB will be available for customers to use the Internet at will, without having to worry about running out of their daily quota, in addition to unlimited calling benefits.”
Idea prepaid customers who upgrade their phones to 4G smartphones will need to special recharge with Rs. 356, in which they will get up to 30GB of 4G data with no daily data limit, along with unlimited local and national voice calling. Apart from this, there is also an another plan, customers who recharge with Rs 191, they will get 10 GB of 4G data with no daily limit on their new smartphones, the company said.
These deals are exclusively available on Flipkart on a range of 4G-enabled smartphones from various brands such as Motorola, Micromax, Lenovo, and Panasonic, priced in the range of Rs 4,000 to Rs 25,000. Idea Cellular has also confirmed that the new data plan offer is valid till Friday (June 30), and subscribers can make recharges on any numbers in that duration. Recently, Idea has rolled out a new data plan for its post-paid subscribers, where the plan is providing 1GB of 4G data per day for Rs 300 a month on 4G-enabled smartphones.
“The data offers on Flipkart from Idea is another step in this direction, and a win-win proposition for all – Our customers get access to better data plans and Idea gets access to our large base of evolved smartphone data users,” Ayyappan, Senior Director Mobiles, Flipkart said.
