Road Safety is highly necessary to avoid road accidents that sometimes results in killing the drivers or the person sitting in the vehicle or walking on the road. As per the statistics, Low-income countries now have the highest road traffic casualty rates, at 24.1 per 100,000.
So, Strict and Smart rules are needed to avoid the increasing rate of road fatality. Like recently done by the small fishing town of Ísafjörður in Iceland. The pedestrian zebra crossing has been painted such that it appears to be 3D and is creating an optical illusion for the people. This innovative idea of painting the crossing in 3D give foot-travelers the feeling of walking on air. Not only that, drivers have to slow down their vehicles’ speed.
Let’s have a look at the pictures of the smart move by Iceland Government and the pictures were taken by Ágúst G. Atlason of Gústi Productions. See the pictures and think should your locality need the same too.
