Marvel Studios has given a vast cinematic universe to the world and it’s the best running Cinematic Universe at the moment. In the last ten years there’s nothing which the Marvel movies have not achieved, except one thing-a brilliant female superhero film! Yes, that’s a harsh truth for the studio head Kevin Feige, who also thinks that in the entire history of the MCU, the void of an epic female oriented superhero film has been a missing jewel among the rest of the fantastic films, like Doctor Strange, Captain America series, Thor: Ragnarok, Iron Man films, Spider-Man: Homecoming, etc.
And after the success and arrival of DC’s Wonder Woman (the best female origin superhero film), this year, Feige too, now accepts that female superhero movies should get their own recognition, just like the male centric films.
Recently, during an interaction with Vanity Fair, Marvel Head, Kevin Feige wished that Captain Marvel had been released before Wonder Woman. Captain Marvel is an upcoming female-led superhero origin film, starring Brie Larson, and is slated for a 2019 release.
He wishes that his Marvel film franchise should have been the first one to come up with a female superhero film.
“Yeah. I think it’s always fun to be first with most things.”
Regarding the Captain Marvel movie itself, he said, “Everything’s going to work out. Captain Marvel is a very different type of movie.”
Marvel’s Captain Marvel is scheduled for a release on March 8th, 2019.
