Taiwanese PC and Tablet manufacturer Asus has recently updated its Republic of Gamers (ROG) series gaming laptops portfolio with the launch of a new powerful gaming machine, called the “Asus ROG Zephyrus” in the Indian tech market. Christened as the “world’s slimmest gaming laptop”, the Asus ROG Zephyrus was first showcased at the Computex trade show event 2017 in Taipei. The Asus ROG Zephyrus ultra-thin gaming laptop comes with the latest 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and some really good specifications at a price point of Rs. 2,99,990. The compact gaming machine is aimed at professional gamers and enthusiasts, as it comes with dedicated gaming powers. The company also plans to showcase the 15.6-inch notebook for the first time in India at the mega event of ROG Masters South Asia finale in Bengaluru, which is scheduled to be held on 20th August (Saturday), 2017.

Talking about its specifications, the Asus ROG Zephyrus comes equipped with a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS anti-glare display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The display has a refresh rate frequency of 120Hz and offers 72 percent NTSC colour output. The display also supports NVIDIA G-Sync technology that synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with NVIDIA GeForce graphics card’s frame rate for flawless visuals.
Asus ROG Zephyrus is one of the first few laptops to come with NVIDIA’s Max-Q design architecture. Max-Q designed gaming laptops support the entire GeForce gaming platform including the latest gaming technologies such as NVIDIA G-Sync display technology, VR, 4K gaming, and company’s Game Ready drivers to deliver optimal system efficiency while delivering a powerful gaming experience.
Asus ROG Zephyrus comes with 64-bit pre-installed Windows 10 and it offers a gamer-friendly keyboard powered by Asus Aura with customisable RGB lighting to dramatically enhance user’s gaming experience. The beautiful RGB backlit keyboard offers dynamic and customisable lighting effects for the WASD and QWER key groups.
The compact gaming machine is cooled by an ROG-exclusive Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) for better thermal management. Asus claims that Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) runs cooler and quieter without sacrificing performance. “AAS incorporates unique AeroAccelerator (AA) technology that increases the speed and efficiency of airflow through the laptop,” the company said in its release.
Technically speaking, Asus ROG Zephyrus is powered by the new Intel 7th generation (Kaby Lake) Intel Core i7 7700HQ Processor coupled with 24GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM. The Asus ROG Zephyrus comes with a desktop class NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and up to 8 GB of GDDR5 video memory for powerful performance and flawless gaming visuals. In terms of storage, you can opt for a 256GB SSD storage, 512GB SSD storage or 1TB of M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD storage for faster data access speeds and boot-up times.
Ports on the device include four USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port (USB Type-C 3.1), one HDMI 2.0 port, one 3.5mm headphone jack port, and 4K UHD display output. The connectivity options offered by the laptop include 802.11 ac (2×2 MIMO) technology and Bluetooth 4.1. The Asus ROG Zephyrus comes packed with a 50 WHr 4 Cell Battery and that has been claimed to deliver a battery life of up to 4 hours. Dimensionally, the laptop measures at 378.4 x 261.6 x 16.8 mm and weighs only 2.2 kg.
