Justice League opened with a strong figure Internationally

Justice League opened with a strong domestic week in US/Canada but somehow it was short of what was expected of it to accumulate. The latest superhero ensemble from DC garnered $96 million domestically, in its three-day period from Friday-Sunday. Previous predictions before the release were revolving around figures of $110 million+, but now that the actual results have come, it’s a bit of disheartening for Warner Bros, for sure.

However, the film has come good when being looked at in terms of global collections. Justice League took around $185.5 million from its international territories! That’s really a huge amount and its certain that it will please the audiences in the international markets, in the coming days. When coming to the worldwide total, the movie has made a solid $281.5 million.

The global figures are really positive considering the huge budget of JL, being a whopping $300 million! Now, one thing is absolute that it will definitely go beyond its total cost of production in just a couple of days, and even beyond that, hopefully.

Meanwhile, as compared to its previous DCEU counterparts, Justice League, sadly, has become the only DC film to open with a domestic figure of less than $100 million! Yes, that’s right. All the past four entries from Warner Bros, had a $100 million+ weekend debut, during the time of their release.

While this year’s biggest and DC’s best so far, Wonder Woman had an opening of $103.3 million (beyond expectations), last year’s Suicide Squad and BvS: Dawn of Justice had an even more stronger debut of $133.7 million and $166 million, respectively. And before all of them, way back in 2013, Man of Steel also had a bright opening of $116.6 million.
